Η αλήθεια είναι ότι η Ευρώπη σήμερα δεν είναι όσο ισχυρή θα μπορούσε να είναι. Και αυτό οφείλεται σε σημαντικό βαθμό και σε δικά της λάθη. Στη μεγάλη γραφειοκρατία. Στην υπερρύθμιση. Σε μια μονομερή προσέγγιση της αποανθρακοποίησης στο πλαίσιο της Πράσινης Συμφωνίας, που σε αρκετές περιπτώσεις λειτούργησε σε βάρος της βιομηχανικής βάσης της Ευρώπης και συνεχίζει να οδηγεί σε αποβιομηχάνιση. Και βεβαίως στο υψηλό ενεργειακό κόστος, που υπονομεύει την ανταγωνιστικότητα των ευρωπαϊκών επιχειρήσεων», είπε ο Πρόεδρος του ΣΕΒ, προσθέτοντας ότι «η Ευρώπη χρειάζεται αλλαγή πορείας».
«Χρειάζεται λιγότερα διοικητικά βάρη, πιο ευέλικτο επιχειρηματικό περιβάλλον, χαμηλότερο ενεργειακό κόστος, ισχυρότερη βιομηχανική πολιτική, περισσότερες επενδύσεις και μεγαλύτερη έμφαση στην παραγωγικότητα και την ανταγωνιστικότητα», επεσήμανε ο κ. Θεοδωρόπουλος.
Στη πράξη, θυμίζοντας ποιο είναι σήμερα το πραγματικό διακύβευμα, μίλησε για το στοίχημα για την Ευρώπη, να αρχίσει να πλέον να σκέφτεται πιο ρεαλιστικά, πιο στρατηγικά, πιο παραγωγικά, και το μπλοκ «να αρχίζει να κατανοεί ότι δεν υπάρχει ισχυρή Ευρώπη χωρίς ισχυρή ευρωπαϊκή παραγωγή, χωρίς τεχνολογική επάρκεια, χωρίς ανταγωνιστικές επιχειρήσεις».
«Αυτή η αλλαγή σκέψης είναι απαραίτητη», ανέφερε ο κ. Θεοδωρόπουλος, προσθέτοντας ότι η Ελλάδα και η Γαλλία συμβάλουν ουσιαστικά σε αυτήν, ως εταίροι και χώρες που κατανοούν ότι η ευρωπαϊκή κυριαρχία δεν είναι ένα απλό σύνθημα, αλλά αποτέλεσμα κοινών στρατηγικών στόχων, ρεαλιστικών πολιτικών και συντονισμένης προσπάθειας.
